Mikaela was inspired by a 50's silhouette and pleated design.  It was created first through draping with muslin and transformed with a custom pattern development.  I chose a tweed and denim fabric combination for the dress as I feel both are classic and timeless fabrics.  They helped to create a modern, sophisticated dress with an exaggerated collar that can be worn in several ways.  Below are images of my process and development.
